Quilt Along w/Jenn @Quilters Depot is about to be announced!

Hi all!

So did you do my first quilt along last fall?

I saw so many awesome quilts and I'm sure there were a bunch that I never saw!

I did listen to many suggestions and ideas for this year's!

First email will go out next Sunday morning by email.
I will not be posting on the blog the whole email.  What I am going to do is make a webpage that is accessible on the store's site!
Sunday when I do my this week with Jenn blog I will include the link and an update without pictures probably.  We shall see.  This is just an easier way if you lose your email or blog post you can get to it!

You can choose this year whether the quilt is a mystery or not.  There will be a link to a picture of my finished quilt top included in the first email for you to decide.

Not only have I made the sample, but I will also try to keep up with my own emails and actually Quilt Along with you!  I'm not promising I will keep up though..............lol

This year's Quilt Along (yes I said Year's.  I am not sure if there will be a second one in the fall or not.  Depends on my schedule) is called Precut Frenzy.  My quilt is named Charmingly Stripped.

Are you excited!

Success Stories @Quilters Depot!

Smacks myself in the head!

I told everyone to use mom's camera this week because I need to go buy a new phone!  Hopefully by next weekend I will have one whose battery lasts more than 2 weeks.  That is what happens when you wait a year longer than your contract to update!

So I only have one picture.

Just a quick peak at 2 of the penguin sweaters and mine that have come in!  The two you see are crocheted and mine is of course knitted!  Keep them coming in.  Remember I will collect them until the end of October.  And no i won't show you my ugly one again........lol  Thanks so far to LisaT and PeggyW and of course myself..........lol

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot

Let's see what did I do this week!

First up is a quilt I long armed.  I have been introduced to the art of Zentangle and I am trying to incorporate it into my long arming.  If you want to know what Zentangle is you will have to check out our June Newsletter because Deb will be starting a lcass in it!  What you see below is free style quilting and not digitized!

I also long armed a quilt for Mom.  I didn't take a picture of that.

Next up is the Pirates Scarf.  This is as of yesterday's game.

Lastly.  I am not sure i should post this picture.  On one hand I was proud of myself I figured out how to do it but it didn't come out totally right.  I was making another little penguin charity sweater and even though the yarn was what called for it was totally too big.  I had to redesign the pattern a little.  It worked but came out lopsided.  need to redo the pattern a little bit.  So see I screw up too!  the armholes aren't quite right and neither is the head hole.  Oh well we knit and learn!  or quilt and learn. At least the colors are pretty...........lol

The big big news is that I fnished the instructions and sample for the next quilt along!  Stay tuned probably next Sunday for the email.  Some changes will happen for it.  Look for a blog mid week about it!

I have lots of stuff on the plate for the week.  One I will not mention because I want to do it but can't or I will jinx the Pens.  Let's hope I get to show it to you next weekend!  let's go pens!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

Happy Easter everyone!

Today, the blog is a little late being posted because I decided to actually bake something.  Not sure if it will turn out.  I think I needed more time in the oven to bake, but oh well.

So I finished a couple things this week.  Mostly knitting since I can do that in front of the TV or out on the store front while I wait for you all to come in!
First up is my felted hat!  Here are two angles.  Ignore the bananas in the background!  Those are now gone since that is what I used in my cookies!  lol  Who else thinks my styrofoam head looks like an alien?  It is actually scarey!  I am not a hat wearer so I think it will be a birthday gift for a cousin.

Next up is my penguin sweater.  This one is totally more the size they are looking for.

Next up.  How is your Pirates Pride Scarf coming along.  We have some black after this week.  This is as of Friday night's game.  I have to do last night and today once I get my butt moving after dinner.

One thing did not get finished but is almost done is the plans for the next Quilt Along.  You will be very excited to know the next Quilt Along quilt is about a week away from being finished.  I am hoping in approximately two or three weeks to post the first week of it!  You will then have two weeks to get your fabrics!

I think that is it for this week!

What's New @Quilters Depot!

We have lots of stuff to show you!

First our favorite distributor came through so we have some great pre-cuts!  The first are three fat quarters.  They are called tulips. The second are jelly rolls.  None of these are going to last long!

Next up I needed to order more of the Dale of Norwegian Vipe black and gold for the Pirates Knit along.  So I succumbed to my obsession and got two more colors!  My favorite colors!  We now have about 7 different colors int his line.  The black and gold.  hot pink, blue, tan, silver and I can't remember the 7th.

Next up is the newest batting to be used for your microwave potato bags!  Each package is 1 yard of special batting and includes the directions for making the potato bag.  We should have more potato fabric in soon also!  Watch for that in the What's New in the coming weeks!  Sorry it's sideways.  I screwed that picture up.

Next is a Batik 108" Backing.

Finally some other fabrics!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

Hi all!

Are you enjoying the 80 degree weather.  Are you ready for the cold front........lol  What a tease Mother Nature is!  Today windows open and birds chirping.  Tuesday winter jackets. brrrrrrr

So how are you coming with your Pirates Pride scarf? I am caught up through Friday night's loss.  I will do Saturday's and this afternoon's game this evening!

I am actually really excited about how pretty the linen stitch is in the Vipe yarn.  It's really pretty! I did go up another needle size.  I will check my size tonight when I am done and hope I am now where I want to be!  If not it will probably just be a smaller scarf or maybe I'll take the plunge and do six rows until the last 12 games and then back to 4.  We shall see!  Have you checked your gauge to see if it's going to be the size you want?

My other knitting project for the week is I started the Evelyn Tilt Hat.  I only have the top and then if I find time I can start to felt it!  Then comes the fun part of deciding how to embellish it.  That's if it comes out right!

I also quilted a quilt at the store for a family friend.  I took the plunge and used Glow in the dark thread!  It's a neat concept but I'm still playing with the tensions. Have to do a little research and buy bigger spools if you want to do more than just a baby quilt.

I also finished a queen size on the long arm at home.

Next week I have to get my butt moving on designing again!

Have a great week!  and remember the one with the most stash wins!
