Second BOM of the Year @Quilters Depot!

You all saw the information in the last monthly email about our newest BOM!

Here it is again with newer pictures. We have 2 blues left and 3 black's.  Don't wait to sign up!  We have a sample of both colors in the store if you are interested!

Introducing BOM 2014#2
Asteria by Tiffany Hayes

The Asteria Quilt block(s) of the month quilt is like none before it, not the traditional sampler quilt. Aptly named for the Goddess of the Stars, it is a celestial masterpieces in blue and white batiks. The finished quilt measures 106" x 106".  Each month there is a new block to make and instead of making one you will make several of the same block. There is even a bonus quilt pattern each and every month that features the current month block designed into another whole quilt.  The way Asteria blocks are put together is so stunning, it is all pieced with straight lines but appears curved. This quilt can be made by a confident beginner.
We will be doing it in two Color Waves.  The Blue as done by Tiffany and in Stonehenge Blacks/Greys!  Samples are in the store as of May 15th!
Come check them out and Register!
Registration is from May 15th to July 15th.  5 spots in each color wave.
$15 non refundable registration fee.

$34.95/month for 8 months.  First block available August

Meet Sheldon the Turkey @Quilters Depot

Over the hump day.  I don't have a camel for you today.  I have a Turkey!

As you know last year for a raffle during shop hop we raffled off a big wall hanging of a squirrel.  The proceeds went to our local library.

This year we have a Turkey!  Meet Sheldon!  One lucky winner will win Sheldon the Turkey and be able to take him home.  Tickets are $1/chance.  Proceeds this year will be going to Project Linus!  Now I will warn you Sheldon has a little bit of an attitude!

Don't miss out. The raffle tickets are on sale from now until Saturday, June 21st @5pm!

What's New @Quilters Depot Day 1

Hi all.

I forgot to unload the camera again. Sigh!

So instead I will give you two days of What's new because a whole bunch of stuff came in!

Let's start with the threads today!

I decided at market not to put my re-order list in for Superiors (I did that from the computer so we are re-stocked on all our usuals!)  I decided to look at some of the lines that I do not usually play with.

Now I know we have some Kint Tut in the store but most are the blender or neutrals.  So I got some fancier colors to play with.
As always if you want any of the Superior's and we do not have them ask!  We will Special order!  It might be 7 to 10 days to get them in so plan ahead!

Next, I want to show you my new favorite pattern!  These I found at market from the Zebra Pattern company!

The first are small block size mini Panels.  They have a lot of the cities but of course I got Pittsburgh and the Pennsylvania one!  There is also a Fat Quarter size Pittsburgh that I got.  It's on the Long arm right now.  Hopefully I can show it to you next week.  If you want any of these we will be taking orders.  I have to buy minimums so think 3's!  lol

I also bought a bunch of her fusible applique Light House series!  You can't believe the awesome stuff Debra at Zebra has!   Ask to look at the catalog if there is something you are thinking of wanting to do!

I have decided that after all these years I am going to do Applique!  I am going to start with one of the Lighthouses. Wish me luck!  Sorry about the glare on the picture.

Tomorrow we will show you the fabrics that came in this week!

P.S. HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!  Thank you to all our military and their families for the sacrifices they have made and continue to make!

- Long Armed a Queen size quilt.

- did the email for next week.

- did the work schedule

-did the Q-along emails and web updates for next week so all i have to do is upload!

- now it's time to do the blog!  Oh and I'm watching the Indy 500 as I do most of this........lol

I will admit I am a tad bit behind on my Pirates Pride Scarf.  I hope to catch up tonight since I think I have a bunch of yellow to knit!  I think I am 3 or 4 games behind as of the start of today's game.

Are you doing the Quilt Along? Here is my first week's work!  12 charm rows!

Finally, this week I did the latest in the Laura Nelkin classes that we have done.  The Cheerio Necklace!  I really loved this latest necklace!  I am going to do a black one too.  Actually I might do two black ones.

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

Happy Sunday all.

As you read this the crew of Quilters Depot is spending their last hours at the Quilt Market!

Here is a picture (taken by me on the third floor) of half of the vendor floor from this week's trade show!

Do you think it's hard going shopping at the mall with too many choices.  You should go to a trade show!

All of us had some great time and learned a lot of new stuff and drooled over new products.  Some which we bought.  Some we just drooled upon!

Are you ready to do your Quilt Along?.  Here's the Link to the second email if you missed yours.  http://www.quiltersdepotpa.com/Quiltalong14/PrecutFrenzyPage.html

I think if I have time I'll make that page full of links to each week.  Might make it easier for you all to find the email you need.  Just give me a week to fix it.

Hope you all have a good week.  I'm teaching a bunch of Fusion classes this week!  Man I need a nap!  I think I will take the week off from blogging.  Talk to you next week!

Do you know @Quilters Depot!

As you read this on Wednesday I am in my first Quilt Market class!

Boot camp for Retailers!

So if you come in Wednesday evening I might be yawning!

I wanted to take a moment and ask you Do you know?  Do you know that Quilters Depot is the only Quilt Store in the Pittsburgh Area on the T Line?  You might say what's the T?  The T is Pittsburgh subway line.

If you take any Blue Line T from anywhere and get off Smith.  You are about 200 yards from our store!  Just get off the T.  Cross the line.  Walk up Smith road and turn left and walk through the dirt parking lot that belongs to our neighbor Pilates and then you see us!  What else is more convenient then coming shopping on the subway!  Easy and fast.  Leave the car at home and take the Subway!

Remember we are closed tomorrow Thursday, May 15th so that all of our employees can go to Market and get fresh new ideas for your classes!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers out there.

I am behind on my Pirate scarf so I am not showing you a picture since it probably looks like last week.  My goal is to sit down tonight and get caught up!

I have been busy getting ready for Market this week.  Make sure you check out the calendar so you know when we are open and when we are not!

One of the things I did do was picked out my fabrics so I can quilt along with you this time.

Check them out!  Do you have your fabrics?  http://www.quiltersdepotpa.com/Quiltalong14/PrecutFrenzyPage.html  remember you have one week before we start sewing!  These were not precuts.  I picked out my fabrics and did the cutting! So if you cannot find what you like in precuts it's about 2 hours of cutting!

2014 Quilt Market

In exactly one week you will see an abundance of quilters taking over Downtown Pittsburgh.

Every year Quilt Store owners get to see what the latest and greatest in the industry is during Market.

This year it's in Pittsburgh!  Next Wednesday I will spend the day in a boot camp for owners to help learn the things to do to make you the customers happy!

On Thursday 5/15, Quilters Depot will be closed so that our sales associate/teachers can attend market and learn about all kind of new and cool things to bring back and teach you in the following months!

On Friday, the exhibit floor opens and we get to visit all the vendors and decide what new things to bring into the store!  You will see all of us in and out of the store as we take classes and make our way back and forth from the convention center.

Check our website out www.quiltersdepotpa.com  for our special hours.  If you are visiting the city for market check out the website on how to find us!  We are the only quilt store in Pittsburgh that is on the T (subway) Line!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

Hi all!

So what are you doing on this semi pretty Sunday.

I quilted a tshirt quilt.  I did my employees schedule (ugh!).  I am now doing all the social media work I need to do as this blog and getting stuff ready to go out next week.  Then I want to knock out the newsletter that comes out on the 15th to the point I just have to add a few pictures!  Oh and I need to catch up on my pirates scarf.............lol  Here is a picture of that!  I am up to Friday night.  At least we have a couple wins this weekend so the black can be put away!

This week I got some time to fool around on the Pro-stitcher!  I decided to make a rally flag for round 2 of the playoffs and do a window for the Pens.  Here is a picture of my rally flag!

Did you get my email for the first week of the Spring 2014 Quilt Along?  If you do not get my emails or visit the website I will post the link here each Sunday.  As it goes along just scroll to the correct week!  Click here to read the first email!  You have two weeks to complete step 1 which is to get your fabric!
