This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

Do you ever go through a rut where you really do not feel like being crafty?

I am in one of those ruts.  I can't remember the last time I actually got something done knitting wise.  I am kinda glad that baseball regular season is over.  At least I am not getting any farther behind.......lol

I am excited to start the Penguin Scarf because that means it's Hockey Season!

I do have goals this week, but I am not sharing them since that seems to be jinxing me.......lol

I have been working on a quilt for a customer at the store because I am doing customized block work on the Pro Stitcher for her!  It's good practice so that I can start to write the new manual.

I have ideas for advanced Long arming class for you all.  However, I have to practice to be worthy of you!

Have a great week everyone!

Jenn's Screwup @Quilters Depot!

Well today I sat down to tweet and post pictures of the trip and saw somehow they posted back to last week.  Wow the fun of technology.  So I re-posted tonight!  hopefully now some of you will see them and you get to blog entries from me in one day!

sorry for the screw up

Salt Lake City Pictures by Jenn @Quilters Depot

Today I have some Salt Lake City Pictures for you.

Handi Quilter took all 29+ of us to the Roof in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  If you are ever in Salt Lake City this is a must go to restaurant.  The view alone is worth it!  Just remember you will not get coffee, pop or alcohol!

Do not ask me what the pictures are of.  I really do not know.  I was just snapping pictures.  I am guessing that is a statue of Joseph Smith.

More Pictures from Jenn and Deb's Utah Trip!

Today I will show you the pictures that I took from the Handi Quilter Headquarters.  All the quilts hanging are from employees.  They rotate the quilts that they hang on a regular basis.

This is the manufacturer floor and warehouse.  Even though parts for the Handi Quilter machines come from all over the world, the machines are built, tested and shipped from the USA!  (shhhhhh they make other brands too but we won't mention them..........lol)

Stay tuned for tomorrow's blog.  I will show you the pictures I took in downtown Salt Lake.

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

Hi all!

I will tell you right now this is going to be a picture filled blog!

I did not get done as much of my knitting as I wanted.  ok.  I only did like 3 games.  So yes I am way behind still on my pirates scarf.  I did finish a hand braided chevron bracelet for my boss's birthday.  However, apparently I didn't take a picture of that!  Hopefully, by next week I will have some knitting done since I am so far behind.

Deb and I are back from our Handi Quilter Training in Utah!  Deb is all ready to clean and time your machines!  Here she is hard at work on the Avante's.  Ignore my finger.........lol

Next is a picture of me and my favorite Handi Quilter CSR Becki!  Yes I actually am letting you see a picture of me!  You know I hate getting my picture taken.  You know it's me.  My name tag says so.......lol

I will tell you that was the best part of the trip.  The people.  Everyone at Handi Quilter are down to earth awesome people.  I also got to make a new friend who is also a Store owner from the Pittsburgh area.  I got to spend a lot of time with Sarah from Little Foot Quilt Store in Evans City and her husband Dale was with Deb in Tech!  It's always great to find a new quilting friend and one near my age!  One day when I actually do not have to work two jobs I want to drive up and check her store out!

I promise that tomorrow you will get What's New and then we are going to skip success stories this week because I only had one on my camera.  Instead Tuesday and Wednesday blogs will be more pictures from my trip!

Jenn's Handi Quilter class pictures @quilters depot!

So today I left the best for last.

Pictures of the mountains.  Oh and some of what I was working on it class.

sunrise from our hotel parking lot.
Both of these are outside the Handi Quilter building.

One of the things I learned was how to use the micro handles and do some couching.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures that I took!  The micro handles and couching feet will be in stock soon if you want them for your machine.

I will be starting to work on the new Pro Stitcher manual.  Give me another few weeks to get that manual going and then the classes can resume!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot

Happy Sunday all!

As you are reading this Deb and I are on our way to Utah for Handi Quilter training.  By Thursday night we will be experts.  Ok, maybe not experts.  At least we might know something more than we do now!

I did finish my Stereo Cuff.  It's in my bag packed though so I can connect it.  Somehow mine is wayyyy bigger so I am going to just sew the ends together and not use the clasp.  I will have a picture maybe next week.

I have a second one with the beads on it ready to knit!

My goal for the evenings this week in the hotel is to get my pirates scarf caught up and Deb has promised me to teach me some hand crafted bracelets!

Have a great week!

Breaking News! Penguin Scarf!

Ok.  You know I always try to give you guys more of a heads up then everyone else!

So since I announced the Pirates Rally Scarf (How are you coming?  Yes, I am wayyyyy behind!) everyone has been asking me about a Penguins scarf.

You knew I would do it right?  lol

Here goes.  As always I am giving you choices because this is your scarf.

It's your choice how many you cast on.  I am thinking between 20 to 30 sttiches depending on the yarn you decide to use.

I want you to decide how long you want the scarf.  For example.  I want a 60" scarf.  I will divide 60" by 82 games.  So I need to do 3/4" each game.

1) Buy 1 black and 1 gold skein of yarn.  Very simply.  If they win you knit in gold.  If they lose you purl in black.    You can also do all knit if you want.

2) With 2 or three colors.  gold = win, black =loss, blue OT game.  CO 20 or 30 and do some rib.  you pick how many you want.  How cool would a knit 15, purl 15 for a win.  do opposite for a loss.  or just do 2 to 4 rib.  just figure out how many to cast on.

3)This is what I am doing.

I am going to pick three colors. I haven't decided if i'm doing glitzy black or regular black.    We have this yarn available!

gold = win
black = loss
blue = OT or shootout.

I am also going to do a little bit of pattern work.  for a win.  Size 8 needles  20 CO  i will purl 5, knit 10 and purl 5  if they lose I will do knit 5, purl 10, knit 5.

That pattern is what will stand out in the blue to know if they won the OT or shootout.........lol

Here are some other yarns that will work that we have in the store!  We have some others too so come check it out.  You know I'm always loaded with Pittsburgh Colors!
