What's New @Quilters Depot!

I sat down to start this blog post and realized everything that was checked in was re-stocks!

That means you get no pictures.

But don't forget we do have the Minions from last week.

Also don't forget you can come in and start your Wish List for friends and family to buy from!  Come in and ask for details.

Also don't forget the Brother Wish List catalog is also here and you can come get a copy to show your family what you want!

I guess I should have named this blog Don't forget instead of what's new!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot

Hi all

I'm a little late today getting my blog done.  Today is Annual Make Christmas Candy Day.  I don't do anything else until that is done!

The reason they do not let me in the kitchen.  Only I can slice her finger open on a parchment paper roll cutter.  Yes it bled.  Yes bad enough I needed a band aid.

oh well

So i worked on a couple blocks of the BOM.

I finished my brother's Leg Lamp Wall Hanging.

I finished this project for my cousin for Christmas.   Sorry it's not real clear since I took the Picture on top of my bedspread.  I did it on the Dream Machine!  I think I'm going to just put it in a picture frame.

This is her second gift if I get it done!  I'm not a cowl wearer but they are easy gifts to make and give usually.

Have a great week!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot

Hi all

I am a little bit late today doing the lbog.  I quilted a customer's quilt and then I decided to clean the Handi Quilter.  I will admit I am horrible about the maintenance of my machines.  I always say do as I say not as I do, but we had a machine come into the store that motivated me. So I cleaned all of my track and my wheels and such on the machine.  I don't feel so embarassed now..........lol  I will admit my machine has never been serviced. Who knows what the inside looks like but at least I know I have taken care of the outside!

I also did laundry and did the final clothes flip for the season.

I did the schedule.  I am now doing the computer work.

I have been knitting.  I am working on my Steeler Cowl, but also a second cowl.  I can't show you a picture because it could end up as a gift for someone.  (I'm getting more creative in my excuses for not taking pictures!)

I also quilted my brother's gift.  He'll get it on Thanksgiving since we do not exchange gifts any longer for Christmas. Well he will get it if I finish the binding.......lol

I am a cool sister.  Years ago I bought him the Leg Lamp for his window.  This year he will get the Quilted Panel to decorate his house with.

Keep an eye on your emails on Wednesday for sales and on Friday for Retreat Registration!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot

Happy Sunday!

I spent my week playing with the scan cut so that i was prepared for my classes this week.

I did a couple of my Hoop sisters Blocks

I went to a hockey game.  They lost :-(

Today I did 2 loads of laundry. Quilted a Quilt and now I'm doing computer work.  I never seem to get caught up.

I restarted my Steeler Cowl and have one game done!  It looks much better!

I also signed the contract for the Spring retreat!  Stay tuned to an email probably on Thanksgiving about registering.  I have one more price to confirm on catering and I will be ready to send everything out!

I will tell you now this is going to be a slowwwww week blogging.  new stuff came in but i didn't log it in so that blog won't happen and no one brought in a completed project.  I think I will do a blog for Tuesday so stay tuned for that!

have a great week!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot

Hi all!

Today brings laundry, long arming and writing the newsletter on top of the schedule, blogs and other computer work.

I told you last week i was caught up on my Steeler Cowl.  Well.  I ripped it all out.  I was going to end it and make two.  8 weeks per cowl.  Somehow I added 40 stitches to the cowl so that when i went to connect the ends it was so totally awfule.  I started to rip having a spot in mind that looked like it was a good spot.  I got to that spot and was still too many stitches.  I then just kept ripping and was like well i didn't like how I did the beginning either so ripppppppppppp.  Don't ask me how I added that many stitches.  All I was doing was knitting and every once in awhile 2 rows of Purl.

Oh well.  Not sure yet if I will re-start or not, but at least now I have only one gift to do instead of three.  Was it painful?  Yes!  So remember if you are quilting or knitting or whatever yes we screw up.  yes we sometimes aren't happy with our work. Ripping is part of life!

I did accomplish one thing.  I designed a hat for an employee and embroidered it out on the Persona! Don't ya want to come play with the Persona and ask Santa for one for Christmas!  It can do so many things that are hard to hoop!

Have a Great week and stop by and see me on Wednesday!  It's a bank holiday!  I start at 11am to 7pm!  While your at it Thank a serviceman, a Veteran or their families!

We have a Needle Felting class coming up next week so come get your kit and register.  You do not need to know how to Knit for this great Cowl!  Fake all your friends out!

Knitting: Needle Felted Cowl:  Kristen is back and we have a great class for you in November.  The exciting part is that you do not need to be able to knit to do this Cowl!  This is great class to  learn how to Needle Felt and personally get a few frustrations out as you felt your project!  We have a couple of colors in stock.  If you sign up early enough we can get more in!  Makes a great and easy Christmas gift!  I have mine picked out and ready to make for a friend!  You will need to finish the project at home in your dryer but this is a quick and easy project!  Come have a fun night out!  When: Thursday, November12th @6 to 9pm.  Cost: $20 + kit.  Teacher: Kristen Strom.

Register now for these classes @Quilters Depot!

This week we have some GREAT classes starting!  Don't miss out on either one of these!

Spinning Stars—Need a quick Christmas Present? (It’s Coming!) This is a great, quick quilt.  It’s made entirely of half square triangles and uses just four fabrics!  It is a couch quilt size (65x77), but can easily be made larger.  If you have been in the store this is the Purple Quilt everyone is raving about hanging in the classroom.  Do not miss out on this class! This is a THREE week class!   When: Session 1: Friday mornings, November 6th, 13th and 20th @10:30am to 1:30pm.  Session 2: Wednesday nights, November 4th, 11th and 18th @6 to 9pm.  Cost:  $35 +supplies.  Teacher:  Jane Casne.

Free Motion Quilting with your Home Sewing Machine:  We received more requests for the class on free motion quilting with your home sewing machine …so here it is again.   This is a fun, decorative, and artistic way to quilt your projects.  Peggy likes it because she doesn’t get puckers in her quilted projects and she can be creative with her designs.  She will bring several of her quilted pieces to this class to discuss the why’s and how’s of her choices (good & bad!!!!).  This is an intense one day, all day class.  Participants need to know how their sewing machines work (i.e., which includes but is not limited to, how to: wind bobbins, adjust upper and lower tension, adjust the foot pressure, drop their feed dogs, and put their free motion foot on their machines.)  Peggy will not have time to make adjustments to individual machines, so your sewing machine manuals are required for this class.  Sewing machines should be cleaned (remove that lint!!!!) and oiled before class and in good working order.  Refer to the class prerequisites/supply list prior to signing up for this class.  Space will be limited.   NOTE: Those of you who took the first class in August, may take this class again (as a refresher) for ½ price if space is available.  If you are interested, call in and have your name added to the pending list.  We will notify you on the Wednesday prior to the class (Nov. 4th) if there is room available.  Level: 300  When: Saturday November 7th  9:00am  to 3:00 pm  Cost: $30 + supplies. Teacher: Peggy Gibson.

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot

Hi All

I am caught up on my Steeler Cowl until the game starts today.

Did you set your clocks back?  Gaining an hour failed though since I woke at 8am even though i refused to get out of bed until 830 so basically i broke even :-(.  Maybe I'll get a nap this afternoon.

I started a second cowl in another pattern because I decided to split the steeler cowl into two.  If i had done 1 i could gotten away with 1 gift for a cousin.  splitting it means two people need gifts but since I have three people to give them so friends are even in gifts i have to mke another cowl.  Is your gift giving that complicated?   I guess some of those three will get them on knitting needles with a promise that they will be done within so many months.

The only other goal i have for the day is to shave poor Bernie!  Her furr mats are really bad.  She knows it though and is hiding behind the couch.  Maybe I'll embarass her and take her after pic.  I saw on youtube someone giving their Maine Coon a mohawk.  It's tempting!

Make sure you checked out your This Week @ email from Saturday.  There are A LOT of awesome classes into November!
