Seminole Piecing: This is a traditional piecing technique derived from the designs created on the clothing of the Seminole Indian women. It is beautiful and intricate. Three different designs will be made in class. The use of the piecing units will be up to you. Peggy placed hers on hand towels for a nice gift for the Holidays.
Level 100: When: Saturday 12/5 & 12/12 @9:00 am to Noon. Cost: $25 + supplies. Teacher: Peggy Gibson.
“Mondo Bag” Purse : This is the latest and greatest in purses/totes out there. It can be made using 2 ½” strips or 5” squares. Great use of pre-cuts….“jelly rolls” or “charm” packs. There are samples in the store for both options (Note: The 5” square block option is larger that the 2 ½” block option because there are less seams but Peggy’s sample was made smaller than the pattern so plan on yours being slightly larger). All the work is laid out on a pre-printed, fusible interfacing to make it easier for you. There are also options that you can incorporate to make to your own (i.e., grommets and cording for the handles, key rings, pockets, etc.) One idea on the pattern suggests fabric photos for some of your 5” squares --- your own “brag bag”! This is one bag you will want to make several for yourself and as gifts for friends. Level 200. When: Saturday 12/5 & 12/12 @Noon to 3:00 pm. Cost: $30 + supplies. Teacher: Peggy Gibson.
