This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

Hi all!

Hope you all stayed safe yesterday in that ice storm.  Man I'm glad I have an auto starter on my car.  At least it made it easier to chip the ice off!

I am 90% sure we have the new POS system done!  I still have some cleanup issues so tht I have all the important information on you the customers!  However, that's behind the scenes.  We are still learning how to use some of the features but we are getting there!

Stay warm as we head back into the cold.  Wish those 60s had stuck around longer!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

Hi all!

Hope you are staying safe and warm inside.  Yuck snow!  I think all areas should have bubbles over them except where the ski resorts are.  That way you can get to the ski resorts safely and ski.  Not that I ski so I wish there was a bubble everywhere!

So on Friday we went live with our new POS system and our Chip Card Reader.  Please be patient with us.  A few glitches have happened and we hope to have everything perfect by the end of the week!

This Wednesday is our Staff Christmas Party so we will be closing at 5pm so we can go party for a couple of hours!

Stay warm and safe!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

I was very tempted to just copy and paste last week's blog!

Our conversion to the new POS system is days away!  That means the new stuff and the re-orders are piling up!  I think there might be a few special orders also.  Hopefully on Friday which is our official start date I will be able to start logging stuff in!

Please be patient with us as we learn the system and remember if you have a chip card you can now use it!  We will not be handling your credit cards unless for some reason it won't chip or scan right.

Stay warm this week and talk to you soon!

This week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

I have been busy converting our POS system to a new one so  I have not done anything other than business stuff.

I don't have new stuff for you this week because even though it's being hidden in the supply room I need to wait until I get trained on the new software (starts Tuesday night) to get the new items into both systems.

We hope to convert Thursday, December 8th.  That means please have all purchases made by 5pm on that day!  Even though we will be open for knitting class we will not be doing any sales ater 5pm!  Friday morning we hope to be up and running.  Only a few changes will affect you the customer.  We will now be chip card enabled.  We will be re-doing the rewards.  You will keep your $150 gets a $5 gift card but we are working on a way to keep the fabric rewards. As of this time the company that the new system is with is still working with me to find a way to do this.  So be patient with me and my staff as we get trained and used to the new system!

Hope you have a great week!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot

I have been in quilt store owner mode yet again.

Maybe another three weeks and I can go back to doing more fun stuff at the store.

We are very close to getting our POS system switched over.  We ask as we get there that you are patient with us.  Training and hopeing all needed information works is a scary thing!

Did you see my Facebook and twitter announcement last week.  The Outlander fabric is in!  If you do not know what Outlander is.  For shame!  lol  Just kidding.  Diana Gabaldon has written a series of time travel and Starz has made into into a series.  Season 3 (book 3) is being filmed as we speak.  If you have not checked out her books do so!  I am usually not one who likes the movies or tv series but not only am i reading the series for the third time i am hooked on the show!  It's doesn't hur that the lead male character is really hot............lol

Check out tomorrow's blog for the pictures of the panels and fabrics!  There are even 3 flannels!

Stay warm and dry out in that snow this week!

Also, HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!  stay tuned to your emails for the Black Friday and Small Business Saturday sale!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters

I am so boring!  You are probably as tired of hearing it as I am saying it!

I did sew one row of the BOM together.  Wow, I know!

I've been working really hard on getting our POS system ready to convert to a new one!  Paper work and clean up.  That and I really did not work many evenings this week.

We closed early on Tuesday so I could vote.  I did not work on Wednesday because I went and adopted a new little furrball for the apartment.  Friday I finished putting the Sweet Sixteen togther.  So I am busy just not with anything fun...............lol

So that this is not a totally boring post here are two pics of Onyx the cat I rescued.  He has not met his sisters and he might not...............lol  Ignore the junk in the pictures and my fat leg!

This Week W/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

I am really getting tired of writing these words.

"I didn't do anything crafts this week!"

We are in the midst of changing our POS system so I've been spending alot of hours getting ready for the conversion in December or January.  Paperwork to get that Chip processor.  Software installations.  Lessons starting.  I see no end.

I did get 1.5 scrubbies done.  not near enough!  lol

Hopefully you are being more productive than me!

This will be your only blog this week!  I didn't check the camera and I didn't log in the new fabric.  I will get those 3 bolts in this week!

Dress Your Table! Quilting 201

No matter what level you are this is a great class! Joan is one of our newer teachers and she has a great class for you!  It's starting Wednesday afternoon or evening so register now!

Size and shape will be individually determined. Joan will have samples and suggestions for creating a new look for your table. Level 200:
When:
Session 1: Wednesdays, November 2, 9th and 16th @1 to 4pm
Session 2: Wednesdays November 2nd, 9th and 16th @5:30 to 8:30pm.

Let's cross my fingers on that one!

Fall 2016 Quilters Depot Retreat!

You all know I stink at recording things for posterity with the camera!

So here are the pictures I did take!  Sorry for any blurriness.  My phone was full of Penguin opening night pictures and videos so I didn't have enough room so I had to use the old fashion camera..........lol

Great work to everyone!  The dates have been set.  Prices have not since I have to make a change with the lunch and I'm trying very hard not to raise the price to pay for it.  However, I have three choices.  Subway boxed lunches or going with our caterer that we usually use, or something different from the hotel.  The last two will be more expensive and I am hesitant to do that.

Check out the photos below!

remember you also can be at a Quilters Depot Retreat!  Stay tuned to the November/December newsletter.  I should have prices set and registration open.  Tell your family and friends what you really want for Christmas!  A Spring 2017 Quilters Depot Retreat Reservation!

Let's see if any of this makes sense!

Home from our Fall Retreat!  Thank you to everyone who helps out employees and customer wise!  There are a few of you who are customers that I should hire if you didn't have full time jobs already!

I am sharing one picture with you today!

That is 1/3 of my Elegant Elements Quilt.  I have 8 more rows to sew together! I had machine issues on Saturday so I did not get as far as I wanted.  Stay tune to Tuesday and I will post some pictures from retreat!
