This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope you are somewhere cool with the A/C on!

I actually have pictures for you this week!

the first is the purse I finished.  See the cute penguin buttons.............lol  This was actually for a friend but I actually ended up giving her the bigger purse that had been finished for a couple of months.  This is one of my new knitting project bags.  I mean you can never have too many of those!

The next picture is my partially completed sock. The first of the pair!  I am loving this one I think because it's considered a Diabetic Sock that it doesn't have any real seams in it!  I am so tired of just wearing white socks so maybe I can spice it up with some colors.  If so then I can do laundry less often..........lol

My goal is to finish Month 4 of my BOM and have this partial sock done and go onto the next one!  I'm not sure what i did though some of my wholes look bigger than I think they should be.  We will see how the next one looks!

This week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot

Hi all

So last week I spent at the store.  It was my vacation from the bank.

It would have been much nicer if I had taken a few days off from both but oh well.

I did finish my friends gift. Which actually became mine and the one I had done first will be given to her due to I didn't like the size the second one finished at.

I also did about 3 quilts on the Avanta/Pro Stitcher!

I did a few blocks from Elegant Elements Month 4.  I also started to knit a pair of socks!

I didn't get everything done that I wanted but that's par for the course, right?

Hope you all have a great week!

Sock it to me! Knit the socks you want @Quilters Depot!

Whether you have made socks or not.  This is the class for you!  Kristen will help you with any pattern you would like.  From Easy to more complex.  Socks are it!  They are addictive!

Just call us by 5pm on Thursday and say that you are coming so we have enough chairs!

Knitting:  It’s ALL about Socks! If you have never experienced the luxury of hand knit socks then you are missing out!  Join us for a class on custom fit basic knit socks.  You will learn the architecture of knitting a sock. You need to be able to knit, purl, and knit in the round!  If you already know how to knit a basic sock and want to try a more challenging pattern, feel free to bring it along, and Kristen can help you work through it.  You will need Size 1 or 2 DPN’s and 400 yards of fingering weight yarn.  We are only having an evening class, if two or more people are interested in a day class we will arrange one.  When:  Thursday evenings, June 16th and 23rd @6 to 9pm.  Cost: $30 + supplies.  Teacher: Kristen Strom.

 The first pic are Kristen's

These are the socks I made a couple of years ago!   You could make them too.  Yes they are not perfect.  Maybe my next will be better if I take the class.............lol

Classes you don't want to miss this week!

This is an Awesome Week to take a class!
Sign up now!

Wall Angel:  Here is a great project for gift giving or for decorating your own home!  Who doesn’t like angels?  Jane is making fourteen of these for Christmas gifts.  These are on her employee WIP Challenge List!  You can make it with Christmas fabric or whatever fabric tickles your fancy!  They are easy to make.  How about one for every season!  The size is approximately fourteen by eighteen inches.  This is a TWO week class  Level 100:  When: Session 1: Wednesday evenings, June 15th and 22nd 5:30 to 8:30pm.  Session 2: Fridays, June 17th and 24th @10:30am to 1:30pm Cost:  $25 + supplies.  Teacher: Jane Casne

Modern Windows: Using the “Window on the East” pattern by Quilt Woman, you now have the chance to showcase that special scenic, oriental, fall leaf, etc. fabric that you purchased and didn’t know how to incorporate it into a special quilt.  We have several fabrics by-the-yard and panels in the shop that could be used.  The pattern contains 2 different sizes and the small size works well with the 24” panels.
What makes this quilt special is the depth you get from the mitered corners and, if you notice, not all the miters are at a 45 degree angle.  That’s the special technique used in this quilt. We no longer have this fabric since the sample was made for an earlier session.  This is a Three Week Class over two months.  Level: 200:  When:  Saturdays, June 18th. July 9th and July 16th @9am to noon.  Teacher:  Peggy Gibson.  Price: $25 + supplies.

Timbuktu:  Contrasting colored fabrics make this quilt visually appealing.  It is from a pattern by Quilt Queen Designs and uses the 5” “Zig-Zag” Ruler.  This ruler gives you an interesting diamond block design.  The quilt can easily be made larger by adding additional blocks. This is a TWO month class.  Level 200:  When:  Saturdays, June 18th and July 16th @noon to 3pm.  Teacher: Peggy GibsonCost:  $35 + supplies.

You know you wanna take them all!  If you take both of Saturday bring lunch or we will order in!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

Hi all!

Let's see.  I finished a quilt for myself on the Avante and Prostitcher.  I almost have one done for the store.

I did a few blocks on Month 4 of the Elegant Elements.  I should take pictures of some of these Awesome Blocks, but I always forget.

I am in the store all week!  You should have gotten your Sale email!  Come see me as you are hopping around or if my sale number is magical to you come see me!  I will be sneaking out now and again to do errands.  It is my vacation..............lol

I almost have my friends Birthday gift done.  I thought about finishing it last night but Abbie wouldn't let me!  I mean how can you tell her to move so you can knit?  I'm sticking with that story!

My goal is to finish the project tonight and felt it and get the handles on it by end of the week so I can give it to her when I go back after vacation.  The decision is to whether now to do the sock class or work on some of my WIP's.  Decisions, Decisions!

This Week w/Jenn @Quilters Depot!

Hi all!

Does it make it easier to do stuff you do not want to do like computer work when it's raining?  NOOOOOOOO!

I would rather be taking a nap or knitting!

This week I finished Month 3 of the Hoop Sisters Elegant Elements.  I cut out the stuff for Month 4 but I have to use someone else's sewing machine to start because I'm too lazy to convert the embroidery unit to sewing on my machine

I have been working hard on my friend's bday gift, but it won't get done.  She's a good friend who appreciates what I make her and understands when I don't finish!

I put one of my quilt samples from an old quilt a long onto the Avante.  I did about half of it.  I'm actually thinking I might keep this quilt for myself.  I don't do that very often!

Time to go finish the June/July Newsletter!  Have a great Sunday!
