I am soooooo close to being done with my friend's slippers. i just have to do the sole and then connect them. This could take me a night or it could take me a month............lol So I missed her birthday by a couple of weeks.
Or the fact my other friend is going to get her gift still on the needles in three weeks.........lol
I know you all understand.
So to distract you here's a picture of Mr Onyx aka Demon Cat, aka I will not let you knit Cat!
Happy Mother's Day out there to all you mothers! This includes those who are Pet Mama's too.
I won't be seeing my eldest furry children today because instead of me going to visit Mom I've invited her and Dad to my apartment for dinner. So you all should pray for my family and their stomachs today.........hahahahaha
Instead I have decided that Onyx will have to wear his bowtie to dress himself up for the occasion!
What did I do this week? Hmmmmm I quilted my Elegant Elements Quilt and Beth is almost finished doing the binding for me. I have to decide if it's going to become the newest decoration in my apartment or if it's going to hang in the store or be given away.
Other than that Onyx has not let me knit. I am running out of time for a few friends birthday gifts. Maybe I will get some done.
Make a fun, colorful hat (or two!) for your favorite kid (or to donate to charity). We’ll be making (you choose which you want to do!), a dinosaur (knit and crochet), a pumpkin (knit and crochet), a bear (knit) and an owl (crochet). Level: 200.
When: Thursdays, May 11th and 18th @5:30 to 8:30pm.
So I spent most of my week at the Three Rivers Quilt Show out at the Meadows Casino this week!
Below is a picture of our booth. Our concentration was that we were demo'ing the Handi Quilters! I think a lot of ladies had a lot of fun driving the machines
This week will be spent putting stuff back together in my office and working on the next newsletter. Get some of it done in spurts and then it all doesn't have to be done on one day!
Today brings a nice walk in the summer wether and then i'm going to do some gardening. I am now an owner of a goldfish plant, a spider plant, catnip seeds and i think one or two other things. I'll take a pic of my patio if i get it finished. there are a few more things i want for my patio. We will see if it happens or not.
Sign up by April 30th! TIME IS RUNNING OUT! WE NEED AT LEAST TWO MORE PEOPLE TO HAVE THIS WORK!
What is it? A quilt block exchange! Each month, May through December, a different participating quilter will select a block they would like made for them. When it is your month, or two depending on number of quilters who join in, you send the directions and color preferences to the hostess, and she will then send it out to everyone. On or before the 25th of the month, you will receive blocks made from the other participants.
The other months, you agree to make a block for someone else. At the end, everyone should have 9 blocks to make a project.
This is a 9 month commitment. There is a one time cost of $30 to cover supplies if you do not make a block. Participants acknowledge that everyone does not have the same skill level and keep that in mind when choosing a block.
Swap blocks will need to be mailed or brought to the store by the 25th of each month. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Beth at the store. Or call anytime to join the fun!!!
I really did not do a darn thing this week. I did do a 100x100 long arm job but other than that i'm not sure where the week went.
I have two goals this spring. One to walk more. I talk about this in the news newsletter that you will all see next Friday! My goal is to walk on the evenings I make it home before it's dark even if I made it to the gym.
My other goal is to develop a Green Thumb. I bought a click and grow from amazon. Yes I have an amazon problem. It's basically a flourescent light and it's suppose to grow things. I plugged it in this morning. My pods are basil. We will see. If the sprout I will take a picture..........lol
Nothing else is really new. Have a great week and stop in and buy stuff!
